Wild Flag on Letterman

Last night, Wild Flag were the musical guests on the Late Show With David Letterman, which meant that Carrie Brownstein got a chance to look unbelievably badass on network TV and Dave was forced to bust out that great little holy shit chuckle that he reserves for legit-amazing performances. I wonder if Brownstein has ever kicked Mary Timony in the face onstage by accident; she comes dangerously close a couple of times here. Watch it below.

Wild Flag’s self-titled album is out now on Merge.

  1. Paul Schaffer approves. Wild Flag is about to sell a million albums.

  2. I didn’t put together a year end songs list, but this was my favorite song of 2011.

  3. Fantastic, but I still love the Corin Tucker Band a little bit more and wish that it hadn’t gotten overlooked in the wake of the the more ‘supergroup’ Wild Flag.

    • I love them equally, but yes, Corin did not get enough press. I think there is the “supergroup” factor, but it also has a lot to do with the fact that her album is fairly un-Sleater-Kinney and she only played a handful of shows to support it.

  4. yesssssss

  5. Marys smile at the very end is priceless.
