Wavves and Best Coast double dip in the royalty pot by licensing last year’s “Got Something For You” — originally written for Target — for a Guitar Center holiday ad. Can they do that? I guess they can. Watch the commercial after the jump.
In a landscape where artists apparently can’t make any money, it seems Best Coast and Wavves at least have it sort of figured out.

Guster has done the same thing with their Target song “Tiny Christmas Tree”.
By my count its been used in a total of 3-4 ads. It’s the gift that keeps on giving
