Ryan Adams has often been photographed wearing Ratt T-shirts, and as it turns out, he wasn’t just being cute with it. On a recent visit to NPR’s Weekend Edition Sunday, Adams broke out a gorgeous solo-acoustic cover of the glam-metal band’s 1984 nugget “Round And Round” — not a faithful cover by any means, but certainly not an ironic one either. So: Best “Round And Round” cover since Mickey Rourke and Marissa Tomei drunkenly singing along with it in The Wrestler. Give it a listen, and watch the original song’s Milton Berle-assisted video below.

Adams’s very good new album Ashes & Fire is out now on Pax-Am/Capitol and available at eMusic.
Next up for Ratt: a collaboration with Dave Grohl.
