If you’re looking to extend the effect of this morning’s Naam bong-break, the next nine minutes are best spent fixing your heavy lids on the new video from San Francisco sextet Sleepy Sun.” “White Dove” is a smoked-out opus that leaves no stoner unturned with Sabbathy grooves and sludgy bombast, hazy half-awake verses and a folky outro, and also both a guitar solo and a drum solo. The video sees the crew in the woods and on a mountain, face painted and intercut with aboriginal vision questing visuals on print fit for the ’70s, which seems to be Sleepy Sun’s decade of choice. Watch that and grab an MP3 of “New Age,” another of their debut Embrace‘s hypnotic Mountain jams.

Embrace is out via ATP.

Saw these guys live a couple weeks back opening for Autolux. Stole the show – did a killer cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain.”

  4. Thank you Fantastic Sam! Sleepy Sun are an amazing group of musicians and collaborators. The visuals are taken from Gerald McDermott’s film, Sun Flight (1961).
