When we posted “Dark Horse” I went into some detail (aka babbled) about how much I like Converge’s seventh album Axe To Fall. It’s easier to backup the enthusiasm with a second bullet in the chamber in the form of the suffocating title track. Axe, the album, introduces new wrinkles into Converge’s attack (the aforementioned piano, glockenspiel, saxophone, etc.), but this song’s a straight-to-the-neck old-school kicker. For the video, director Craig Murray goes the seizure-inducing horror route complete with a haunted house, torturous brain-frying headgear, animated wire bondage, and a pregnant television.
