We’re a mere eight days away from the release of Interstellar, the immensely likable new Frankie Rose album. And now we have the LP’s first video, for the album track “Gospel/Grace.” In director Hannah Lew‘s clip, Rose coos against an appropriately cosmic backdrop and makes tracers with her arms. Frankie keeps hitting them out of the park with these solid tracks. As a whole however — and I’ve given it spin after spin after spin — my feelings on Interstellar are mixed. The front-end of the album is stacked with these more likeable pop tracks. Toward the end, it gets a little too heavy with the atmospherics and I find myself lost in space.
