Since last summer, our Amrit Singh has been putting together an independent short film called Dosa Hunt, with Das Racist’s Himanshu Suri and Ashok Kondabolu, Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij, Yeasayer’s Anand Wilder, Neon Indian’s Alan Palomo, and NYC jazz stalwart Vijay Iyer. It chronicles a day spent by the group in pursuit of NYC’s finest version of South Indian staple dish, dosa. They roll deep in the Dosa Van, traveling throughout the boroughs to sample various takes on the dish. The film was directed by Sam Carroll, edited by Zoe Schack, and produced and hosted by Amrit. That’s the Anil Gupta-designed logo up top. The trailer’s out today, so head to Dosa Hunt website to watch it.

The one project Aziz Ansari wasn’t hip enough to be casted in.
Dosa me.
looks great good job
I will admit that my thought process got the best of me. I thought that the trailer was going to be a music announcement for the best Indi(e)an super group ever. Please make this happen if it already isn’t “secretly” happening. You at least have my assurance that Dosa Hunt is a badass name.
I feel sorry for you guys. I’m in Mumbai and get the best dosas like 5 mins from my place.
Sweet brag, bro.
“shake it, baby”
I love that Alan is an honorary Indian.
