Well, this type of thing doesn’t happen every day. Bruce Springsteen, already announced as SXSW’s Keynote Speaker, will bring his whole entire E Street Band with him to play an intimate show during the Austin festival. On 3/15 (Thursday), the band will play an unannounced venue; my money’s on Stubb’s. SXSW is holding a ticket drawing to figure out who will get into the show, so it’s probably not worth it to show up outside the venue just to beg and plead with security. Head over to the SXSW site for all the details.

Badge or wristband necessary (so not for us ‘regular’ folk).
That’s okay, you’re probably better off going to see a band like Ceremony than spending your time holed up in a small venue with a bunch of big wig industry bros singing along to lyrics about economic disparity and the working class, all doing so in $900 leather jackets, $600 denim and those Beck sunglasses.
Speaking of which, look what came came in a week and a half ahead of schedule!:

Listen, Ceremony is great and all, but you had better not be bad-mouthing the Boss.
I’m not bad mouthing The Boss, but rather just the way SXSW works and to some extent, The Boss’ fans. From what I hear and read, unless you’re a “somebody,” you can’t get into these high profile-big-name-in-a-small-venue showcases (a.k.a. big wig industry bros. Like for example, Scott will be there I’m sure dad-rocking it out.)
Even when you go to a Springsteen concert, though — which I have — it’s not uncommon to realize that you’re surrounded mostly by wealthy business men who’ve paid top dollar on StubHub to be there dressed in their casual weekend wear (a blue blazer coat, white button down, CK jeans, Sperry Top-Siders.) Glory days…
