Jetset Records announced today that “after more than a decade creating some of the most important, essential and bewitchingly beautiful rock music,” Luna are calling it quits.

An extensive farewell tour kicks off in Japan this month and hits the states in November.

  1. that’s a little sad. i only have one of their songs, ‘Astronaut’, but it’s one of my favorites. and, i’m moving to the west coast in a week so i will be missing their tour. hrm.

  2. Does anyone know why they’re disbanding? Have they made a statement, or are they just burned out, which is understandable?

    At least i was able to see them live before they split, something i can’t say about Galaxie 500.
    I guess Dean will continue his project with Britta.
