Gossip - "Perfect World"

Feminist blues-punk veterans Gossip’s last album was the decidedly disco 2009 effort Music For Men. They’ll return in May with the new LP A Joyful Noise, and British studio-pop wizard Brian Higgins (of Xenomania fame) is on hand to produce. Below, we’ve got the album’s tracklist, as well as the punchy, synthetic leadoff track “Perfect World.” It is very catchy!

TRACKLIST:
01 “Melody Emergency”
02 “Perfect World”
03 “Get A Job”
04 “Move In The Right Direction”
05 “Casualties Of War”
06 “Into The Wild”
07 “Get Lost”
08 “Involved”
09 “Horns”
10 “I Won’t Play”
11 “Love In A Foreign Place”

A Joyful Noise is out 5/22 on Columbia.

  1. this is what lady gaga thinks she sounds like

  2. I like most of the vocals in the embedded track (not that little ‘oh-ooh-oh-ooh-whoa-ooh-whoa-ooh-uh’ chromatic melisma/run) but the chord changes are just 100% meh

  3. feminist blues-punk!?

  4. Great rack. Looking forward for the new album that should be out soon. I found the lyrics for this one at the link bellow.

    • “Great rack” is my favourite typo today. “Bikini hill” is a close second. It helps if you picture Beth Ditto while reading them.
