Wow: I like to think that I’m in the prime demographic to enjoy that video…I’m interested in Japanese street fashion (FRUiTS, anyone?), I sort of like Gwen Stefani, etc. But JESUS GOD: THAT WAS AWFUL. never was a big fan of hers, no i don’t the song, and yes it’s campy… but I think the video captured the essence of japanese culture from what I understand of it: complete lack of irony. wasn’t she about “keeping it real” and authenticity ie. wearing the things she likes to wear? I had to stop watching that piece of shit video!! My eyes just couldn’t take it any longer, she needs a new hairstyle-that ‘long-fake-hair piece’ is old(her real hair breaks off cuz’ it’s so damaged). She really does need to stop copying Madonna. Here’s what I think:
-The way she sings reminds me a lot of No Doubt. She does the vibratey thing with her voice, which I love, and she does the “BOOOOOO!” which she does in Platinum Blonde Life live. So I thought that was cool.
-Her boobs are not bigger. The shirt she is wearing is pushing her up and gives the appearance of bigger boobs (just like in the wedding dress and pink wig in Simple Kind of Life).
-She dances just like she does when she’s with No Doubt live. You guys just hate it cuz she’s not with the band.

Hey I love this song. The whole back to the eighties thing is hip. I think you guys are being waay to harsh, from a musical stand point this definately has it’s moments. The video is a beautiful piece of art and the harajuku girl style is awesome! At least the japanese girls are not “sheeped” (as in too dumb to make their own styles) like american girls seem to be.
