As it goes, Cutie lead singer Ben Gibbard has been trying his hand breaking in some new tunes whilst on tour with David Bazan. Reader Caleb writes in about one such ditty “Casino Blues,” folkie in strum and bluesy in lyric, running with gambling metaphors (dollar bills y’all) and sopping up hard times (“oh so empty were the faces of the dealers and the waitresses around”). Doesn’t sound like Death Cab material per se, but a nice pick up for Gibbard die hards. Have a listen at It’s Hard To Find A Friend.
