We like Marissa Nadler’s tendency to put other ladies in her videos. Very Warholian. If the look and feel of “Mexican Summer” remind you of the duskier “Bird On Your Grave” vid that’s because this languid, sun-downing love story was also directed by the Portuguese artist Joana Linda. She’s not the star this time, though: It’s Ana Moreira who weeps over a lollipop, an empty swing, and a lonesome horse, but mostly sits in front of a window dreaming Carloto Cotta’s face a million times. And then they kiss. But it takes a while.
Exactly like a Mexican summer we had one year. If you want to see Marissa herself, she has a number of upcoming live shows, mostly of the European sort. The full list after the jump.
