I woke up to two voicemails, two txts, and an e-mail, all from Amrit. He was waiting for me at the airport because we are traveling to Lollapalooza today. He was 12 hours early. At first I thought he made a dumb mistake, but then I realized he was just super excited for this weekend and couldn’t wait to leave New York. And there is a lot to be excited about. Radiohead are gonna be great, especially when Gnarls join them on “Reckoner” (I made this up) and Barack Obama joins on “Weird Fishes” (this part is true). We made a downloadable mix of MP3s from 28 bands playing Grant Park this weekend. You can download tracks individually, or all together as a zip or torrent. If you’re attending Lolla and your flight hasn’t departed yet (hi Amrit, see you in a few hours), maybe you can listen to it on the plane. I’m using a photo of a Lolla ’93 t-shirt to illustrate all this, because I am good at image search like Buckcherry is good at viral marketing.

Oh, that’s where Amrit was today? I was wondering. Man, I had way too much time on my hands today.
what, no dierks bentley?
Where is the Butch Walker love?
good news everybody: flight’s delayed! Which is great, I was cutting it close. JFK wouldn’t have been a bad place to blog from (for example I do not have a TCBY and full service bar in my apartment usually) if my laptop didn’t break when I got here 15 hours ago.
Oh, that stinks. Hope you’ve been consoling yourself with some fro yo and johnnie on the rocks. I honestly did miss your posts today! I’ve never read a blogger whose opinions so closely match mine.
chopped liver.
Sorry, Brandon. If it’s any consolation, I think I commented on every one of your posts yesterday… and now I need to leave stereogum for a few days. Unless you post again on anything Elephant 6 related, because apparently I’m the only reader who gives a shit about that music.
Ha ha. I was just kidding. Thanks or the consolation prize, though. (By the way: There is some E6-related stuff coming up. Stay tuned!)
Hey, thanks B! And might I say I have never read a commenter with such exquisite taste in bloggers and opinions ;)
See you guys tomorrow!
Coachella steals my dollar each year (Thank you, California!), but if I was fixin’ to pimp da Palooza, my choices would be as follows:
Friday – lots of folks seem to speak highly of The Enemy, but for my money nothing beats a Butch Walker show, damn he throws that tsunami-sized late 90′s powerpop around like it’s a tetherball, catchy as hell. Plus you can witness Holy Fuck on a proper stage
Saturday – If you miss the micro-sized majesty of the Tiny Masters of Today, you’ll want to uppercut yourself in shame. Plus the math rock of Foals? The world party of DeVotchKa? Fuggedaboutit. But check out Broken Social Scene for God’s sakes – it’s damn difficult to get enough of those Canadian sweater-wearin’ hipsters in one place to actually use the “revered” name, they must be planning something…
Sunday – The Octopus Project likes bright shinies, Tally Hall is deadpan funnier than an actual band has any right to be, and have you heard Saul William’s new product? How’s he gonna pull that sh*t off live? Plus NIN later in the night – I smell collab
The AT&T stage, the Myspace stage…….wow…..what a lame festival filled with meatheads
are those mp3s provided legally?
“Barack Obama joins on “Weird Fishes” (this part is true)”
Aren’t you at all tired of the hanger-on?
