From the first announcement — and through those weak sketches featuring her special friend Johnathan Rice and fellow Postal worker Ben Gibbard — Jenny’s been intent on keeping this an extended family affair. Last night she brought Rice and other hugging, harmonizing pals to Conan, making the host hold up her blotter album art a few times while she wore a hat and sang the album’s title track. It’s a nice performance, confirming she’s come along way from those days of being an anonymous member of Kanye’s focus group. Watch it at hulu.com.

Those backup singers look like they are in a LOT of pain.

They did this in New Haven sunday night at the Shubert and it was gorgeous.. a better version than the Conan one , as the harmonies really floated around the theatre… great show… the woman drumming on this tour does some great harmonies with Jenny.

Jonathan Rice made a crack about New Haven being a decent town despite George Bush going to college there. I’ll see the show again when it comes through LA later this month… the new album tunes came alive for me after seeing them performed.

  4. this is amazing… but yea it sounds even better performed in a theater.

  5. i saw jenny & friends in new haven, too. it was a fantastic show. “acid tongue” sounded absolutely amazing live. and “jack killed mom” couldn’t have possibly have been any better. it’s a solid album, but when performed live it takes on another life.

  6. I realize I’m a bit late to the party, but I’m loving everything Jenny Lewis and Rilo Kiley does these days. I get a Fleetwood Mac vibe, but that’s probably like equating The Jonas Brothers to The Beatles…

If Tegan keeps fucking around with that dumbo-eared loser from Against Me, I’m going to team up with this chick instead.

    • except sara quin would probably be much better off as a solo artist. their stylings don’t match at all. it would be a weird/bad collaboration.
