We posted the audio version of “Caroline Says, Pt. II.” It’s from Lou Reed’s December ’06 performance of Berlin at St. Ann’s Warehouse in Brooklyn. As mentioned, Matador’s releasing said concert as a 14-track soundtrack under the descriptive title Berlin: Live At St. Ann’s Warehouse to accompany Julian Schnabel’s documentary Lou Reed’s Berlin. Here we have the video take of that same performance. It adds quite a bit to see not only Schnabel’s projections, but also Reed’s hand gestures and facial expressions as he wrestles with the song’s heavy content. A seated Antony comes in for the final refrain: The man is a choir unto himself.

The images are via Lou Reed’s Berlin, but the ghostly quality and overall color palette feels similar to Colin Whitaker‘s “Nightflower” videos, which were projected at Antony & Co’s heartbreakingly beautiful performance at Clock Tower gallery last night. (They also appeared in the Another World teaser.)
The song alone:
Berlin: Live at St. Ann’s Warehouse is out 10/21 via Matador. Antony’s five-song Another World EP is out today via Secretly Canadian.
