Last week Bandstand Busking recorded of Montreal, of course, as you’d expect, busking around London. We’ve seen Kevin Barnes and cohorts Skeletal Lamping both stripped down and stripped down recently, but this is the first time we’ve seen them busking on the streets (actually, kinda by the parks) of London. Nobody approaches to offer donations, but then it’s hard to derive the value of a languid tree-side “Id Engager” or “Heimdalsgate Like A Promethean Curse” performed on lawn furniture.

I love how easily they acousticize their very non-acoustic songs.
These glam funk popsters are finally getting their comeupance and it’s about time they broke out of their cult status.
Now my son and I can finally roll down the windows and sing our hearts out to the same funky jams! I told him Skeletal Lamping was the new Wiggles album… don’t tell! He said that 13 was too old for the Wiggles anyway. Whatever.
It’s good to see they are finally playing a few House of Blues venues as well– one of the best venue chains in the country, and maker of a mean Caipirinha. Here’s hoping these performances will inspire the young Mr. Barns to dip his genre morphing toe into the blues! Oh yeah!
