Jane’s Addiction played in L.A. last week. This week bassist Eric Avery continues consorting with old people in his video for “All Remote And No Control.” It comes from his solo album, Help Wanted, which has been out a few months, but with Jane’s Addiction in the air, appears to be getting a closer look and listen. The dark and chilly song has something Interpol-y about its delivery. It pairs well with the clip’s blue tints, dreary dinner table interactions, and windy/portentous/creepy imagery. Watch what happens when old folks branch out.

Not the best/most interesting/memorable song in the world, but better than Count Farrell.

Help Wanted is out via Dangerbird Records.

  1. I like this song, but I am looking forward to a new Jane’s Addiction record more. This is better than Polar Bear, as good as some of the stuff from the Deconstruction album, but not as good as vintage Jane’s. Get a call into Dave Jerden and haul everyone back into the studio for the winter so that the summer time can have it’s official opening band back.
