We were finally set to do some first-hand Langerado coverage this year, but then Wall Street imploded. Citing slow ticket sales and “a very tough decision in a dismal economy,” Langerado has called off this year’s fest, which promised sets from DCFC, Modest Mouse, Public Enemy, and more. All purchased tickets will be refunded. More unfortunate info at langerado.com.

    Dear Pat Riley,

Please put an awesome concert together for this weekend in Miami. I have a plane ticket and hotel room. I bet that a lot of these bands do too. Let’s party with Charles Barkley.

    Love,

    D-Wade

  2. Everyone should instead go to the Harvest of Hope festival in St. Augie! It’s the same weekend and the ticket prices are drastically cheaper. Plus, The National is headlining!

have you ever seen the national live? that will be the most horrificly boring headlining set ever

  3. Instead of blaming the economy, how about blaming the terrible line-up put together. Last year it was REM and Beastie Boys, this year it’s Death Cab and Snoop Dogg? C’mon, the headliners are non-existent. The economy won’t hurt Coachella, Bonnaroo, etc.

    • definitely a terrible lineup. there was no real headliner. also, i think langerado has some sort of identity issue- they don’t know who they’re courting anymore and it’s evident in their lineup.

  4. Yeah, I would love to see you guys cover Harvest of Hope. Great bands for a great cause…and a lot cheaper than Langerado.

    • Agreed! It’s $100 cheaper than Langerado, for more or less the same bands. and it’s for charity. I’m going there.

  5. WHAT THE FUCK?!

how far is it from miami to st. augustin?

  6. not only the poor lineup but also a poorly run festival. i went last year for one day and it took 3 hours just to get in. only got to see the beastie boys and i wanted to punch every damn hippie that was dancing around me.

although the year before that was great.

Harvest of Hope will be canceled as well. The festival existed because the bands were already in FL. HoH folks we able to convince all of the Langerado bands to stay close and play.

Now that the (better paying) Langerado is canceled, most of these bands will re-route their tour schedules and cancel HoH as well.

This is because they are having it in MIAMI. IT was a stupid idea in the first place. The indian campgrounds were awesome. Its not a music festival without camping. This is what they get.

Having Death Cab For Cutie headline this festival was a DUMB idea, especially when they had R.E.M. the year before. Bummer for the people who wanted to go though, I went last spring and had a great time (even though Vampire Weekend bailed and the Avett Brothers didn’t show).

Look for lower ticket sales across the board, possibly more cancellations. When mommy and daddy lose 1/3 of their 401k, kids don’t get their weekend retreats. And the end, the pot dealer suffers!

  11. like 7-8 hours

i was there last year too and i thought it was an awesome weekend of music. that’s what they get for fucking with a good thing. i do feel bad for those who booked flights and whatnot though.
