Nearly a year after Islanders Nick Thorburn and Jim Guthrie’s Human Highway side-project presented itself via this sunny standout, the duo is recharging and offering itself yet again, via spring tour, and via fucking with their facial alignments. The former is self-explanatory, for the latter we offer up the video for “The Sound,” which disassembles Nick and Jim’s pretty mugs and sends them floating in a black sea of geometric shapes. Earlier we had called it a “toe-tapper,” turns out it is also an effective ear-tapper.
But wait, there’s more: In a beonlinb-like twist, Nick and Jim have offered up their facial features for interactive reintegration at this address. Drag their facebits around the screen to dynamically adjust track levels and isolate your favorite instruments, or just for a nib of Potato Heady satisfaction. Directed by Olivier Groulx, who also was behind Arcade Fire’s interactive “Black Mirror” clip, so you know what to expect.
Moody Motorcycle is out via Suicide Squeeze. Meanwhile, Nick Thorburn remains hella busy, and Jim remains a hella jingle writer.

This is an amazing video, it looks like the work of Olivier Groulx
This video is awesome!
Great song! Great video!
Mr. Potato Head and his bucket of parts
Stoned out, and loving it!
Does anyone else have a ear phobia?
This is a good video for a good band. I loved Moody Motorcycle.
Great, something refreshingly creative musically and visually! It proves though that a video can be great but if the music sucks… no so in this case!
