This recent video from Irish singer/songwriter Gemma Hayes, nodding pretty clearly to The Wizard Of Oz, turns the idea of “Home” upside down. (Thanks for the tip, Clare.) In it, Hayes wakes up on her back in a field to find a house perched on its roof, a discarded magic want, some ruby red sneakers, and a broken-brick road that leads her to something that finally puts a smile on her face, all the while reminding us “there’s no place like home.” During the daylight sequences, the hues are reminiscent of Andrew Wyeth’s painting Christina’s World — the clip has that sort of deep solitude to it. It’s the second single from Hayes’ third album The Hollow Of Morning.
The Hollow Of Morning is out via ATC/Second Motion.

This is a great tune. Best on the album imho.

It’s a lovely video, good song. I’d see ‘This Is What You Do To Me’ as being the strongest track on the album though
