Over the weekend, Basement Jaxx premiered “Raindrops” on Pete Tong’s BBC Radio 1 show Essential Selection. The duo’s new track features Felix Buxton on vocals and raindrops on your lips, saving you from dehydration in a desert of emotion. The Jaxx’s new album, tentatively titled Scars, will reportedly include vocals from Grace Jones, Yoko Ono, Yo! Majesty, Lightspeed Champion, Cyndi Lauper, Santigold, and Sam Sparro, but Buxton and his processor do a fine job here. It sounds a lot like the above image and hues would suggest: A pretty glorious return, so we’ll assume it’s a sunrise.
Scars is expected this spring (May) or early summer (June). More info when we have it.
