Woods have been kicking around Brooklyn in various forms for some time, but it’s the fourth full-length Songs Of Shame, with longstanding Vanishing Voices Jarvis Taveniere and G. Lucas Crane plus Kevin Morby in tow, that brought Woodsist head Jeremy Earl’s songwriting to a wider audience. “To Clean” is one of said collection’s most immediately addictive tracks. In the song’s Michael La Burt-directed video, the guys give way to lusty ritualistic over-eating and band-on-band violence, but otherwise they have nothing to be ashamed about.

this is the most incredibly unremarkable music. kinda like being the tallest midget. if this music were a person i wouldnt want to beat it up…… maybe just slap it around and tell it to go home.

  5. How can you not hit repeat on this tune?

woods is not the same thing as wooden wand & the vanishing voice.

  7. Woah, this video reminds me of the Young Knives video for “Turn Tail” or Jan Svankmajer’s ‘Food’.
