In addition to giving us a listen of lead MP3 “No You Don’t” and revealing that steamy album art, today Nick Diamonds’ reconfigured Islands offer a glance at the song titles that will constitute their forthcoming Vapours LP. The followup to last year’s Arm’s Way is out in September and sees the outfit welcome back original member Jamie Thompson on drum machines and sequencers on a twelve-song, 42 minute set. Try and pick Nick’s lyrical mindset as your pore over the track names:
01 “Switched On” (3:31)
02 “No You Don’t” (3:44)
03 “Vapours” (2:41)
04 “Devout” (2:30)
05 “Disarming The Car Bomb” (4:15)
06 “Tender Torture” (3:33)
07 “Shining” (4:00)
08 “On Foreigner” (4:49)
09 “Heartbeat” (3:09)
10 “The Drums” (2:47)
11 “EOL” (3:22)
12 “Everything Is Under Control” (4:07)

wow i feel like im being led on by a tease, just give me the album already
Islands died when The Unicorns disbanded.
islands didn’t exist when the unicorns disbanded…
and im sure you’ve forgotten but “islands are forever”
maybe not the same lineup but the same beating heart is still there
>>Toronto, Ontario @ Kool Haus
no way the show will end up here–it will be downsized 4 sure
that toronto show is them opening for someone else.
Really hoping that the rest of the album is better than that track.
i feel you. what is it with bands taking horrible new directions these days? it wasn’t so bad with dodos, but the new arctic monkeys just makes me furious. fingers crossed that the same doesn’t happen with good old nick here.
agreed with the arctic monkeys sentiment but this track is exactly what he prepped us for in the progress report. I like the track, it has enough of what islands was but with hints of an electro influence.
Tom Cruise!
this album is fucking bad. what the fuck is this digital schtick?? it sounds like they made the whole thing in fruity loops…
