A Message From Pete Townshend & Rachel Fuller

Our friends Rachel and Pete of the web-based TV programme In The Attic and umm, The Who, would like to tell ya about the new project they're working on called Attic Jam -- after which The Raconteurs pop in for some Who cover love. Enjoy.

Jack you slacker, how do you not know the bridge to "The Seeker"?! Next time we forget the chords to a Who song we want Pete to guide us, too. Anyway, that's the version of the tune that you'll hear on the Attic Jam compilation about which Pete and Rachel were speaking. Of course we pretty much demanded that MP3, and thought you might want it as well:

The Raconteurs (Feat. Pete Townshend) - "The Seeker" (MP3)

Other artists we love that make the Attic Jam cut include The Magic Numbers, Death Cab, Editors, Martha Wainwright, and The Flaming Lips. Also worth knowing: Rachel is throwing an In The Attic show at Joe's Pub on 2/20, featuring Pete and special guests TBA. Full Attic Jam tracklist after the jump.

01 The Kooks - "Ooh La"
02 Ed Harcourt - "Last Cigarette"
03 Martha Wainwright - "These Flowers"
04 Editors - "All Sparks"
05 Rachel Fuller - "Blue"
06 The Raconteurs (Feat. PT) - "The Seeker"
07 Death Cab For Cutie Feat. Pt - "Photobooth"
08 Pete Townshend - "Acid Queen"
09 The Fratellis (Feat. PT) - "Hippy"
10 The Magic Numbers - "Long Legs"
11 Regina Spektor - "Musicbox"
12 The Zutons (Feat. PT) - "Mary Anne With The Shaky Hands"
13 Simon Townshend - "Soul Searching"
14 The Flaming Lips (Feat. PT) - "Baba O'Riley"
15 Rose Hill Drive - "Brain Novocaine"
16 Razorlight - "What's It All About"
17 Mikey Cuthbert - "Misery"
18 Foy Vance - "Homebird"

Bonus Track

19 Pete Townshend - "A Quick One While He's Away"

Attic Jam will be available next month on iTunes.

Baba O'Riely? I think the song is spelled O' Riley- regardless I'd love to hear the flaming lips and townsend cover it.

Scott - How big of a hard-on did you have when you heard Townshend say "stereogum"?

Did everyone else take notice of what the DCFC track is? I can't imagine how that combination of sound/artist will sound. I'm stoked though.

Ben Gibbard is probably the exact opposite of what Pete Townshend was at his age, just to clarify. Pictures of Lilly vs. I will follow you, etc. Some of the other artists are a great match though. Anyways, this is pretty insane- I was pretty shocked to hear them say stereogum.

p.s. As much as I respect jack white, when asked who should sing....Pete! He also seems very charming in this video. I always thought he was their best singer..

Oh it will be good to check out these artist all together in one place...Rachel and Pete sure know how to choose them. Plus hearing her do 'Blue' only sweetens the pot.
