New Kelly Clarkson - "One Minute"

Stereogum's never been too proud to say it: We love Kelly Clarkson (who doesn't?), despite the Idol not knowing from blogs nor deodorant. But Ted helped indie snobs get past the reality TV stigma and hear how infectious her singles can be. Yesterday, Kelly performed at the Daytona 500 (who went?), unveiling the new tune "One Minute." In this live setting it's tough to say if it's gonna be another "Breakaway" hit. You'll just have to wait for the Mike Watt mix.

I'm no fan of her Melissa Ethridge-y vocals, but if you could take her voice out of the song, it'd make a damn fine pop song.

I'm a big fan of her deliciously round ass.

I'll admit that I'm a fan of "Since U Been Gone" and have gotten on stage to sing it duet with a drag queen once. Other than that. I'm just not feelin it Gum.

Kelly Clarkson is miserable, and "Since U Been Gone" is dreck.

Infectious her singles can be? I thought I was coming here to read up on things that weren't so pop...

I'm loving the new song, but too true stereogum, we need to hear the recorded version. I'm no longer afraid to say it, Kelly Clarkson kicks my ass.

I like the song, I'm not totally in love with it but RCA is pushing for more pop on a lot of people so that's why I don't like it. but her vocals sounded scatched in here but I love her outfit, espically her top(so it gives away it's not a jumpsuit)

That's a mighty good song and I love Clarkson's vocals when they're a little rougher around the edges. No more Mariah type singing please!

I saw it on tv and the sound seemed off - No depth or resonance. It was a cold windy day outdoors. It was difficult to get the full effect but after watching it several more times today I freakin love it. A great set of heavy guitar licks and tinkling lead picks frame the dark distubed lyrics. Clarkson captures it's black manic message perfectly. I think this girls grown exponentially and her music is just beginning to get to what she's really all about. I'b bet she wrote this song. It took me a while to admit she really has something special. She does and I can't wait to hear more.

Earning some points gum. I was forced to listen to the Breakway CD and am now a Kelly fan even though it's still hard too admit it sometimes. But I been hearing some much about this next CD, that I can't wait till it comes out. Guess we will wait and see.

Her label has been rumored to be forcing her into singing more pop material. She's wanted to go rock for a long time, and her album will be far less pop than Breakaway.

What's with your bad sports events having stupid dancing people away from the performance? Prince had that awfully camp marching band, and she seems to have an army of cheerleaders... Not surprised for that track though, you need some kind of distraction because that song was terrible.

Although I am a huge kelly fan, I have to admit that the sound in this performance was horrible. I can't really say weather or not I like this song yet, but as of now, its just eh for me.

I was in the crowd in front of the stage for this Daytona 500 set.
The song is great (I heard it five or six times counting rehearsal) but Kelly, I think, was a little under the weather that day which might account for her vocals not sounding as good as usual.
She didn't come out for the soundcheck at 10 that morning, so this was the only time she sang that day.
Plus, despite the sun, it was friggin' cold (for Florida) that day and her outfit needless to say wasn't designed for warmth.

It was obvious that kelly wasnt having her best vocal day, but she can sing. I think it is a good song, I love the Lyrics. I am sure the recorded version will change ALOT of peoples minds. She obviously has talent, Breakaway sold over 16 million world wide people.. Thats amazing just like Kelly Clarkson...

Sincerely

Chicago's #1 Kelly Clarkson Fan

ONE MINUTE was release to AUTRALIAN STORES on sept 24th!!!!!!! It has already been the #1 most added track to radio.

Due to the great success of One Minute ALREADY, it will most likely be the third U.S/Canada/U.K single, following SOBER and DON't WASTE YOUR TIME, depenting on the country.
