Right Now Eddie Van Halen Is Checking Into Rehab

As unlikely as it seemed, we figured all the Van Halen guys (save Gary) would at least show up for their Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame induction. Until now. Eddie gave this statement to TMZ.com:

I would like Van Halen fans to know how much I truly appreciate each and every one of you. Without you there is no Van Halen.

I have always and will always feel a responsibility to give you my best. At the moment I do not feel that I can give you my best. That's why I have decided to enter a rehabilitation facility to work on myself, so that in the future I can deliver the 110% that I feel I owe you and want to give you.

Some of the issues surrounding the 2007 Van Halen tour are within my ability to change and some are not. As far as my rehab is concerned, it is within my ability to change and change for the better. I want you to know that is exactly what I'm doing, so that I may continue to give you the very best I am capable of.

I look forward to seeing you in the future better than ever and I thank you with all my heart.

Love,
Ed

More champagne for Michael Anthony then. Enjoy it while it's free.

No bozos. Breathe in breathe out Don't bitch between breaths. Put one foot in front of the other. Don't bitch between steps. Go to a meeting. Get a sponsor and work the Steps, and oh recovery is not for pussies. 12 1/2 years today for me

Don't listen to these cell phone clones. When we put booze in our body we get a craving. Get on your knees with a sponsor hold hands and say the 3rd Step prayer after him.

Wow, he looks scary! Kinda like a cross between Iggy Pop and a disgruntled vietnam vet.

I really don't think he looks that bad at all. It's just the lighting.

Holy crap.

Well, I hope it works this time. The man is a bull in a relationship china shop, busting up everything in his path. In a year that would have seen all the 70s / 80s major acts together, with Genesis, The Police and VH haunting the highways, Eddie did kinda wreck the mojo.

But I hope the rehab works, and I certainly hope he's more committed to it than Brit. Post-partum, my bulbous butt. More like post-partied...

Me, I'm going to be a silver fox. But I'd advocate hair dye in his case. He's rocking "zombie halloween mask" hair.
