50 Cent Words

Sometimes owning the best line of hip hop-inspired condoms and proving yourself world's coolest bat mitzvah banga isn't enough, so a rapper's gotta spread his wings. You guessed it, 50 Cent, impresario behind the G-United "urban-fiction imprint" is about to drop his second memoir, 50 x 50. Understandably, he's starting to think of himself as a man of letters. Via NY Magazine:

"My first book, From Pieces to Weight, was on the best-seller lists for a nice long time, and this book I expect the same type of response.” From Pieces to Weight (“Cool, hard, and vivid,” said the Times Book Review) was written with a co-author; for the new one, a collection of personal essays and family photos, Fitty worked alone, he proudly says. (His publicist admits there was “help” from Noah Callahan-Bever.)
In the same piece, proving he really is a pretty savvy rhetorician, he riffs a bit on language and its meaning:
[50 Cent’s] also a little frustrated that his new track “I’ll Still Kill” will be retitled “I Still Will” for television. “I don’t think they have a problem with the group the Killers being called the Killers,” he says. “I don’t think anyone’s protesting that Guns N’ Roses is called Guns N’ Roses. I just think that their perception of me is dark, so they’re going to ask for those things to be changed, you know what I mean?”
We hear you: The Willers, Wills N' Roses ... 50, in line with your new persona, why not just rename the tune "I Still Will Shakespeare?" It's hard to tell if Curtis is really into it, or if this is just to keep pace with 'Ye...

Indeed, the recent graduate recently released his own book, the graciously titled Thank You And You're Welcome!. Via Kanye Universecity:

It's dope....10 bucks. I teamed up with co-author J. Sakiya Sandifer to make my literary debut with Thank You And You're Welcome!, an entertaining volume of "Kanye-isms "-- the creative, humorous and insightful philosophies and anecdotes used in creating my path to success. It captures the same wit, playful irony, and piercing insight found abundant in my lyrics. In Thank You And You're Welcome! I deliver my personal message uncensored, without any five-second delay or media distortion.
Right, it's only 'Ye's first tome, so Curtis finally beat West at something. Actually, forget it, competition over-- looks like this time he's gunning for Lance Bass.

50 is a fucking idiot. i hate people who make racial issues out of nothing. yep, it's cause you're black, not because you ACTUALLY advocate murder, gangs and violence. this isn't relevant anyway. joni is right. get this off stereogum.

Krusty the Clown: Well, okay, but here where it says, "What I got you gotta get and put it in ya," how about just, "What I'd like is I'd like to hug and kiss ya."
Flea: Wow. That's much better.
Arik Marshall: Everyone can enjoy that.
