A New View For iTunes

Following in the grand tradition of, uh, Jet ... The Fratellis' "Flathead" is the new soundtrack to your favorite dancing neon silhouettes. Watch the new iTunes trailer here.

Not impressed? This is much cooler. iGIF points us to iConcertCal, an awesome new app for your iTunes. Download the program here, install, and open the Visualizer (under the View tab). iConcertCal then creates a calendar of upcoming performances in your town based on your iTunes artist roster, complete with venue and support act info. Click the artist name and be whisked to the venue homepage. Best part: It's third party freeware, so no rotten Apple-profiting links! Genius. Muhahaha.

hmmm...sounds interesting, does anyone know if this download is actually worth it or not? I don't really need anymore third party freeware on my PC.

Just installed. It's tiny and I'm liking it. I'll still prolly check Pollstar but this is great. It links right to the venue.

yeah seeing live bands and having a utility for it really makes us nitwits.

Oh wait... you called us chunk blowing masturbaters. Too bad you spelled masturbate wrong. You suck Sean and it's awesome the way you put none.com in your url. You can leave it blank, tool.

Get bent.

got this as soon as i saw it on igif and turns out it's as good as it seems. i have a feeling i don't trust it enough to rely only on this, but it is convenient anyway.

It think that they get all there dates from JamBase.com which seems to dig a little deeper and have more of the smaller bands I like. Pollstar is more the JT and Beyonce.

Pretty cool ap.

This is cool, but its giving me false dates?
It says that Clipse is coming on March 27, when just yesterday P4K said that Clipse was going to be playing in Carrboro, NC at Cat's Cradle on march 27. Am I missing something here? As far as I know, Clipse isn't coming anywhere near here on their entire tour.

^ Like I said, it works for the UK.

Kevin: Last.fm's is better as there's a much wider selection of artists available, but the events only get put up because they're user submitted. If they used the last.fm dates on this program though it'd be amazing. The selection's just rather limited at the moment.

As far as this app is concerned, it's great! However, it only finds bands already in your iTunes or in a separate .txt file that. This produces a problem. What about all the kick ass bands that are playing in your area that you've never even heard of? To me, those can be some of the most rewarding shows. Just don't limit yourselves to finding shows from apps like this.

i love it. i live in ny and compared my playlist against NY, LA and Chicago just to see where's the best place to live for all the music in my personal playlist.

LA had about 75 shows listed but it matched mostly my classic rock and 80's stuff (Flock Of Seagulls, Styx)

Chicago only came up with about 35 shows. But some cool bands.

NY, as expected, totally wins with about 78 shows listed and most of them current (with the exception of Rod Stewart at MSG) - but...

my point is...I LOVE THIS PROGRAM!
