Actually, Muse Didn't Ask Glenn Beck To Retract Endorsement • Beck's rep reveals, "After raving about Muse for four minutes, Glenn made a joke about their representatives e-mailing him to stop. While it is entirely possible that Muse does not like having Glenn as a fan, he was making a joke." Here's Beck explaining his lie and dissing us bloggers who believed him.

I don't know what's worse, the fact that it's not true or the fact that Beck is so self-aware that he's full of shit that he felt compelled to make the "joke".

Sorry, this is going to come off a bit rough, but isn't Stereogum (and everyone else who covered this) guilty of following a proven liar? I mean it's staring you right in the face. We could go through a relatively short list of very significant fallacies, but we don't need to. We're all already aware the massive charade he puts on and we're likely all guilty for continually watching and listening to his programs.

Stereogum could have chosen not to follow GB. He's just an asshole with a mic, he should be reduced accordingly.

i thought it was weird that they would've heard his radio show and had enough time to email him and ask him to stop. it seemed a little fishy. also, duh he sucks.

I hate Glenn Beck, but he does rip these bloggers a new one. Hearing him explain it, it does seem absurd that no one questioned the timing. That's a problem with the herd mentality of this instant-news culture: no one takes the time to double-check sources.
