Britney Spears's Blackout Preview (And Album Art)

For those whose eyes simply cannot avert themselves from the car crash that is the life of Britney Spears (guilty), we offer a chance at the prematurest of evaluations. Jive's been dealing with all sorts of leak issues and rumors regarding every aspect of Blackout's pending release, and they've handled it by bumping up the LP release date and announcing a tracklist. The first nine of Blackout's twelve songs have been cut into twenty-second segments and strung together for a two-and-a-half minute sonic snapshot; it's not always a pretty picture, but she may have another iTunes #1 in "Radar"...

You can hear a full-length of "Radar" here. A little "Sweet Escape"-ish, no? As of now, Blackout's due 10/30 on Jive. Here's the tracklist as of today:
01 "Gimme More"
02 "Piece Of Me"
03 "Radar"
04 "Break The Ice"
05 "Heaven On Earth"
06 "Get Naked (I Got A Plan)"
07 "Freakshow"
08 "Toy Soldier"
09 "Hot As Ice"
10"Ooh Ooh Baby"
11 "Perfect Lover"
12 "Why Should I Be Sad"

What happened to "Tell Me What You're Sippin' On"? It sounds like old TLC, and it's in MY COPY of the album! Ooops.

hey ashton, ease it down buddy...take a ride on the sarcasm slide.

oh and on the pavement tip.. listenin' to the reissue of wowee zowee makes me really believe that Pavement is easily one of the most important bands of the 90s...up there with nirvana in my opinion.

this has "train wreck off the grand canyon into a burning mound of tires" written all over it. first serious contender for worst album of the year?

and she's setting herself up for SOOOO many bad addiction jokes by calling the record "blackout"...

The title is hilarious.

I wonder if there will be a William Burroughs/Naked Lunch style preamble about how she has no recollection of making the album...

If Depeche Mode got drunk and had an illegitimate child in a trailer park and then that child grew up to be a deaf quadriplegic they would have record this record.

(sigh) just when you thought things could not get worse. The shame of it all (dis agree as you will) is she had some really good stuff years ago when she was at her peak. A shame that a real come back is highly unlikely

I will be a Britney fan forever, but this album
isn't really that incredible to say the least.
I am very dissapointed. I love electronic music,
but for the millions of dollars her label pumped
into this, i'd be asking that downloadable music program Fruity Loops to look into how many of their instruments and sequencers were used without changing the sound, i mean her producers could have at least written the music rather than sampled pre-recorded synths. I love Her, but i will have to give this record a shocking c-
