Dirty Projectors Announce Tour, Limited Edition Cassette
From Dark Was The Night Live and dueting with David Byrne to Friday's show with Björk, this is a big week for Dirty Projectors. It's just gotten more sizable with the announcement that there'll be a limited-edition cassette version of their excellent fifth album Bitte Orca (old people are excited, young people are wondering what the fuck a cassette is). That, and the band's supplementing their supporting tour with TV On The Radio (maybe it should be the other way around) with a 12-city headlining tour that launches June 17th in Philadelphia at the First Unitarian Church. i threw out my Onkyo (Double Deck, Hi-Speed Bouncing, Digital Metered) tape deck about 3 years ago... I mean I could've sold it on eBay for $10 but they wouldn't pay the shipping!

cassettes can sound rad, it's an analog format, it has it's own aesthetic qualities. i bet it sounds really punchy. tough part is finding a cassette player! i gave my walkmen away in 96.
