Eagles Of Death Metal's Heart On Album Art

thumbnail icon: Eagles Of Death Metal's Heart On Album Art

I was surprised as anyone when Josh Homme and his Queens Of The Stone Age didn't make it onto Out's recent list. No worries, the man's taking a break from Norwegian tirades to make some of that jocular non-death metal with co-hort Jesse Hughes in Eagles Of Death Metal. The duo's third album Heart On (ha ha) is out the end of next month. The cover art doesn't play on the pun like you might expect, but there is penetration and plenty of fluids.

Heart On is out 10/21 via Downtown. EoDM are in the midst of a co-headlining tour with the Hives:

09/16 - Austin, TX @ Stubb's
09/17 - Dallas, TX @ House of Blues
09/19 - Tempe, AZ @ Marquee Theatre
09/20 - San Diego, CA @ STREET SCENE
09/21 - Anaheim, CA @ The Grove
09/22 - Ventura, CA @ Ventura Theatre
09/23 - San Francisco, CA @ The Warfield
09/24 - Los Angeles, CA @ The Mayan
09/25 - Los Angeles, CA @ The Mayan

Does the world really need a new Pigeons of Shit Metal album? Really?

More than the world needs people going around quoting Axl Rose.

Looking forward to this. These albums aren't classics but they're fun and make good party records.

I met Jesse Hughes once.

EoDM were supporting the Foo Fighters, and me and some friends bumped into him afterwards. I have to say, the dude is a really nice guy - he's humble and sound.

I still need to pick up one of their albums, but they're a solid live band.

Jesse comes into my place of employment every now and then (a Mac store) and he's a fucking prick and a half. I didn't think prima donna rights were just handed out to no-talent hacks.

The bathroom of Genna's in Madison boasts a lot of graffiti, but one that caught my eye last week was:

"I'd rather have an STD than listen to Eagles of Death Metal"

this album cover is hideous! and qotsa has plenty of good covers, or at least not disgustingly ugly ones (rated r, songs for the deaf)

How can you not love that cover? They're an intentionally funny band. It's like something Spinal Tap would have come up with, and that's almost certainly what they were going for.

if u get a sec scroll up and check out the band's photo. See that dude who looks like a larger, flamboyant eminem? That's homme-slice.

Would that be The Mac Gallery in La Quinta? I'm pretty sure he's from Palm Desert originally and my roommate tells me he used to work at Video Depot. He was surprised one day to see him in the Music Video for I Want You So Bad.

Truth is, EODM are fantastic live, they've some great songs, an ironic, tongue in cheek sense of humour & aren't a bunch of misery faced, humourless morons that probably still live with their Moms, take themselves WAY too seriously & think that "My Chemical Romance" are "hard".
Seriously - some of you need to move out your bedroom, get a life, get a sense of humour & wipe off your eye liner.
And as for "me at 09/12/08 10:30 PM", dude, try learning to read & see.
I thank you for your time

if you do look carefully the album cover does play on the pun as you would expect you just gotta use the imagination a bit
