Era Vulgaris Cover

Bulby, the star of Queens Of The Stone Age's "Sick, Sick, Sick" promo clip, cements his presence in the QOTSA constellation with a full-on mugshot plastered on the band's Era Vulgaris cover. Cute, right? Even though pirate lightbulbs are so '06.

Badass cover. Their last two were two steps away from Satellite Party's.

I have three little words to say about this cover... SICK, SICK, SICK. You can take "sick" to mean either the old meaning or the new meaning, I don't care which.

Yes, now THIS is an album cover worthy of mention. (That Spoon cover last week was lame.)

So wait...the green lightbulb pirate stole the yellow guy's tooth? Mono? So many questions here...

It says, "we're a serious band, but not too serious" and kinda reminds me of those old Kozik covers, like Melvins' Electroretard.

I'm for it.

the fake record imprint around the outside is like the fake vintage t-shirts that are the talk of the town these days.

Am I alone in thinking that QOTSA's last and pretty much only note-worthy album was Rated R?

no steve, all the other 17 people who knew QOTSA before rated R probably agree with you, but who cares about them

i back the first 3 QOTSA albums. Lullabies kinda had its moments but was hollow and weak, but Era Vulgaris is just terrible. Homme has picked up all these influences from his surroundings that just do not mesh. Dude has no direction anymore, Oliveri at least gave that direction with his stoner bass lines. Theres a huge shortage of riffs on the new album, before they used to jam out riffs for 4minutes and beat you into submission, here they just piss into the wind and hope for the best. Apart from the first 3-4 songs and the Lanegan number, which are average at best -- it is ALL downhill, even embarassing by their standards.

Does the sticker say "Mental Advisory" instead of "Parental.."? I like it!

Well I think more than 17 people were Kyuss fans and picked up the first QOTSA album. It's amazing and everything after it has been inferior. That said, their worst albums are still fantastic.
