Jimmy Eat World's Chase This Light Album Art

Yesterday we got a 50% peek at the first single from Jimmy Eat World's first record in three years. (Later we learned you could stream the whole thing here.) Today the JEW news revolves around the forthcoming LP's album art which, if we're not mistaken, doesn't bear much relationship to its title Chase This Light. Probably just aren't smart enough to get those crazy globe munchers. Check it...

Peacock feather? Like XTC! And probably a thousand other fine-feathered covers that aren't coming to mind right now.

Chase This Light is out 10/16 on Interscope.

Pretty, but so what?

And yeah, Andy Partridge did it better.

This is UGLY album artwork.

The artwork they have for the Casino single itself (you can see it on Myspace) is much better and should have been used for the album itself. Too bad.

Is it wrong to prefer the single as it is on the Myspace? I mean, the first half with the guitars and stuff is fine, but that phased-out synthy bit with the stilted robot lady voice is cool as all heck. And i am not joking.

It looks like a color-pencil take on the Pearl Jam avocado. And that's not too exciting.

I agree with jakem, the "Big Casino" art is far too cool.

Whats up with the bird symbol on the inside? anyone know its meaning? And to all those complaining about the cover, check out all their album covers, they always try not to make a big deal of it. Thats always been there thing and what they are all about...

Like Andrew above said. It is supposed to represent a red tipped match that is lit. But shown in a unique different kind of way. If you own the album just look at the back and that's exactly what the cover is showing, but in a more beautiful and standing out kind of way!!
