Our Love To Admire Cover

Carlos D ain't the only thing getting an Interpol makeover. Should have seen this one coming after they brought mother Earth into the equation. After album covers that ran wild with black and white and red all over (and a range of hues therein), here's one that runs with the wild. Welcome to Interpol 3.0: The National Geographic Edition.

Our Love To Admire is out 7/10 on Capitol.

It's like a creepy display at one of those huge sports/outdoorsman stores, but better b/c it's Interpol.

funky. don't know how i feel about it not matching the others... but i do know i'll still buy the cd at a record store and mayve when it comes home the lions will liven up my cd shelf next to the visually basic antics.

does it really matter what the album cover looks like? aren't you all going to download it on itunes, limewire or get non-art copies from their publicist? come on! even if you buy the album at best buy or (gasp!) your local indie store, won't you just download it to your computer and toss the case in a box? maybe not flora, but most of you.

You should have seen what the band wanted to put on the cover.

It wasn't an antelope I can tell you that!

I heard interpol = bros now (sans carlos D.) I mean honestly......Interpol singing about CALIFORNIA? I am from there, but I still cannot fathom them becoming west coast inspired/singing about. I am pretty reluctant about their upcoming album.

Is that supposed to be a threesome, or a murder? Or is that the point of the cover?

Antics did have lame cover art. I mean, the title of the album and name of the band in text shouldn't count. You could say no cover art at all.

This is up there with the mindfuck of a cover from Perry Farrell's new outing. Antics was lame, but at least it wasn't bad...

Santos is right on. I'm thinking it's some lion-on-lion-antelope action because the antelope has this coy little smile and the guy lion is totally copping a feel.

By the way, great cover art pretty much always inspires sophomoric animal fornication humor.

I don't know about this one... thought it was awful the first time I saw it (because it was so unlike what I was expecting from Interpol, probably) but it's gradually growing on me. The unnatural stuffed exhibit look of the animals kind of gives it something..

i kinda like the album cover...ok so its a total mind game.the antelope with the two lions one at the front one at the back indicates obviously the track "no i in threesome"
as posted it indicates that the lions have to eat the antelope to survie.
so ie..a murder.which seems to me the title of the album our love to admire.the lions our sharing there food.and in a way the lions our us fans that constantly come online posting threads and trying to get our fix of interpol.since the last album and the break of number 3. the antelope i think is this new album for us to feast on...
And lets face it paul really is that arrogant that he wud call it our love to admire.cuz he obviously thinks we r goin 2 be blown away by it and admire it.cuz they love us.
DNT WORRY PEOPLE.hope its worth the wait

I kinda like the new direction, imagine if they just came out with another black/red look, people would be sick and tired of it. and songs like the lighthouse do give them a new sound, they have evolved!

Listen to "Pioneer to the falls" as you look at the cover. It's tragic but the fact that it looks like a museum exhibit just adds to it - It's deep but I think to attribute it to just 1 song (no I in Threesome) is probably a bit obvious. Who knows and do we really give a hoot? Either way, I think it's a fantastic and disturbing cover, but maybe you'd prefer yet ANOTHER black, minimalist pile of old toss instead?

As for the album, it's fantastic and very moving.

I’ve been an Interpol fan ever since “Antics”. When I saw this CD Cover, It inspired me to write a blog post on it on my blog at http://sqwink.com/news/2007/07/10/new-interpol-cd-our-love-to-admire-album-cover-review/

After review, I gave it 7/10 as it is quite refreshing and broke away fro the red.black branding of the Antics album and singles.

It’s good to see that you lot have something to say about the designs of CD covers rather than just the music.
