I used to live this guy, but then he kept releasing the same album over and over.
Score = -16
By the same, do you mean consistently good?
Score = 8
no I mean relentlessly boring and predictable
Score = -14
Captain, I would like more variety in your comments. They all seem to suck.
Score = 14
You've noticed me before? Thanks!

Speaking of Zooey (aren't we always?) here's a tour of her and Ben's crib:

Hurrah

I think the ol' Captain needs a better stereo. M Ward is anything but predictable and boring. Maybe try to listen to all his works, that might help.
Score = 4
m. ward is not boring. i want a Jim James cameo on this though.
Score = 5
NPR is great. All the amazing concert podcasts. Andrew Bird last week. M Ward this week. I think i need to go make another donation. I really, really wish my IT guy hadn't disabled the sound on all the computers. Having to wait until 6 to hear this is going to make the afternoon drag. And then hearing it is probably going to make waiting til his show at the somerville theatre even harder. Lovely album art too. NPR and M Ward make the world a better place

M. Ward+Mike Mogis! Its like a dream come true!
Score = 2
M. Ward's best yet!
It's almost too mesmerizing when taken in through headphones (I got distracted from work lost in thought)-- essentially the album is a vast echo chamber of goodness. His studio performances always beat the live versions by wide margins.
Score = 2
so you're saying he sucks live?
i think he does a great job at making his live stuff sound as similar to the album as possible http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjkH40Mx0bc
Score = 1
Nah man, he doesn't suck live-- it's just doesn't have the same effect-- the layered richness accustomed to the studio production.
Like Bjork or Interpol are better in studio while acts like The Secret Machines or Broken Social Scene have more lasting live performances. It depends on the genre I guess.
Score = 2
you must have superhearing - i hear very little difference bro
Score = 1
I've seen him live twice. Both times were amazing. He played at an old theater with great acoustics, an ideal setting. Maybe you caught him at the wrong venue?
Score = 0
The new stuff sounds great, I almost wish I couldn't listen to it all yet. One more month....such a teaser.
Score = 0
on first listen i'm not nearly as excited about it as i hoped i would be, but his track record is such that i'll give it more serious consideration next month when it's released for real, and we'll see what happens then. i like the atmosphere and strings and everything, but i also miss what he can do with an acoustic guitar, you know?
Score = 1
re: jay
miss what he can do with an acoustic guitar? the whole is based around his guitar and voice. try listening again.
