Wolf Parade Unveil At Mount Zoomer Album Art

thubmnail icon: Wolf Parade Unveil At Mount Zoomer Album Art

Call it a ritual, call it whatever you will: when an album we're frothy for first yields cover art, we like to call in the graphic designers. But first to clarify the album title: Meet At Mount Zoomer (yes At Mount Zoomer -- Kissing The Beehive will just have to settle for being a track title), so named because it was recorded at Mount Zoomer, the studio owned and operated by drummer Arlen Thompson. (It's also a reference to the B.C. nickname for magic mushrooms and "a nod to Thee Silver Mt. Zion" and maybe even more things Wiki hasn't sussed out yet.)

OK so about that album art ... feeling devilish?

A mountain of zoomers, indeed.

Wolf Parade - "Call It A Ritual" (MP3)

At Mount Zoomer is out 6/17 via Sub Pop.

listen to it three or four times..then it attacks you! just like the cover ~ an animal monster will sink its sharp teeth into your neck and you will be lying on the floor squirming with soft yelps and loud breathing and at the end of the last song...a ten-minute blissful battle cry... you will have an orgasmic rush that will leave you feeling only as if you were lying in the arms of your long lost lover.

Something about this cover is remenicent of Pavement. Seriously, it's better than the cover art for "Apologies to the Queen Mary". I think I could live with it.

i found it on demonoid.

we are living in such a coldplay, watered-down christian, repressive climate...it's not only boring. it's false. americans love to believe that mcdonald's fries and SUVs are the only evils.

while people are getting their heads and fingers cut off for ransoms, children are getting lured into bombs like colorful toys and blown up or sold for into a sex den, catholic priests are molestors, cops are criminals and government officials are gang whores....

THAT DEMON MONSTER WITH ITS UGLY FACE AND HORRID HAND IS REAL.

there is evil all around and the more you look the other way the more the anxiety will grow in ur stomach like moss in an unwashed tub or cancer on your aging brain.
i like the DEVIL cover. i actually LOVE it. be watchful. know who your enemies are.

p.s. yes, the album leaked. and yes. i'm a fan.

This is better album art than apologies. I totally agree with 'hello there sexy.' While this album doesn't jump out and grab you as fast as ATQM but after a few listens I'm a big fan all over again. And the album art is only as good as how often you use coverflow, so...

Some songs don't have the same bite they do live... but this is still an awsome, awsome album.

I fucking love it. The art and the cd - both are insanely amazing. It's a grower though, I love it far more after the 5th listen than the first.
