Amy Winehouse Cancels Tour, Finally

Live reviews from Europe haven't been very positive for Wino these days: there's been late arrivals, erratic behavior, and walk-offs netting lots of boos and demands for refunds. And when Amy's beehive isn't embarrassingly falling off her head, it doubles as an onstage snort stash (for real). But it's not the drugs that have her showing mercy upon herself and her audiences by canceling the remainder of her concert schedule. It's because she can't go onstage knowing her hubby Blake's in custody. Doctor's orders! Via Reuters:

Blake Fielder-Civil, 25, is being held on remand accused of inflicting grievous bodily harm on a pub landlord in an incident in June last year.

Winehouse, 24, who has struggled with drugs and alcohol, has been criticized by critics for some of her recent performances and a statement on her Web site said her doctor had advised her to cancel all live appearances scheduled this year.

"I can't give it my all onstage without my Blake," her statement said.

"I'm so sorry but I don't want to do the shows half-heartedly; I love singing. My husband is everything to me and without him it's just not the same."

She had been due to perform a number of concerts across Britain and in Ireland, but these have now been called off.

The statement said Winehouse had been under intense emotional strain in recent weeks and she had been ordered to take a complete rest in the interest of her health and well-being.

Don't think she's reading her doctor's prescription properly, but rest is rest. And look, Amy's sorry. Now if only she could focus on getting back those fabulous tits.

Oh. She might not be back in the US for a really, really long time to do a tour. In case none of you guys read any norwegian news (don't blame ya), Amy was arrested a couple of months ago in Bergen (you know, where Erlend Oye lives) along with her stupid husband and was fined about 500 euros for possession of 7 grams of weed. The cops raided her hotelroom because it reaked of grass throughout the hallway. According to the cops Amy and her clever husband had actually tried to ducttape the firealarm! Amy had to spend the night in prison, and was released the next morning. Now, here is where it gets funny. Her dad claimed in a following interview that she was tricked by the police to admit possession, and that she didn't know what she was signing. Probably scared of the "Lily Allen not getting into US for punching someone in the face"- thing, they are claiming that Amy was framed. Soooo the norske cops now want to take her to court and then this will most likely become a "serious" offence instead. This will in fact make it a lot harder for Amy getting into the US.

Personally I think this is all really sad, not only the fact that she can't control herself with drugs, but also because she is not strong enough to go on with her life and be true to her fans just because her husband is in jail. I mean really!

Band To Watch: Threatmantics

Threatmantics are a scruffy Welsh rock trio that throw some wrinkles into the scruffy rock formula: Instead of a lead guitarist, they have a lead John Cale viola, and their drummer does double-time with a keyboard. The two guys mixing...
