CNN's Anderson Cooper has the coolest "bump" music in cable news, and he knows it. When PAGE SIX mentioned that '70s art-rock band Television's "Marquee Moon" played as Cooper cut to a commercial earlier that day, he admitted that he and his staff take pride in their "bump" picks. "Our theme song is by a punk band from Boston called Flin Flon," he said. "We try to use different bump music every week. We play 'Radio Clash' by the Clash a lot. I have much cooler people than me helping pick the songs, but I help. We just interviewed Bono and he seemed to like it."

I liked Anderson Cooper better back in the Channel 1 days, when they would send his ass off to Africa hoping he would get killed.
Seems to me that Cooper is a guy who just can not get over how hip he thinks he is. With his smarmy little jokes, he thinks he is a "Real News" version of Jon Stewart. Except without all that comedic talent. Seriously, I don't need or want hipsters delivering the news. For me, a hipster is someone who obsesses over things that are ephemeral and not particularly important - the very opposite of what I want in a journalist.

i can't believe i am writing---never have, but, i find myslef fascinated by anderson cooper, and his mother and their story. i have locked eyes with her---years ago, very beau, and petite. i also knows where she lives, and how she tried to get over her son's death, with unconventional means.

Sadly, the first time I've even heard of Anderson Cooper was just recently when he subbed for Regis on Live. Now I am completely enamoured with the man - and judging by how long this thread has been running, so are a lot of other folks. I have never been attracted to a gay man (closeted or otherwise) but I've always fallen hard for the smart, witty dorks. And that's what drew me in.
I truly don't believe he's gay and I really don't understand why folks are so desperate to pin him as such. He's a brilliant man and a real human being who has lived a not-so-average life. Andy is not a genuine Gay! Its his mother who’s the problem! This is a very complex psychological issue and a little bit too “long” for this space but one thing is definite: his Mom is a very very very sick person! None of her children could afford to lead a “normal” life in her proximity! I have to agree with Joey, "Hipster" seems to be the best definition for some of these 'news persons' ! I'm finding that they are putting their own personal spin on news issues when they should just simply be dealing with the facts. They're trying to create an emotional response from the public when sometimes I just simply want the facts. I'll decide when I want to be concerned or not about an issue !
