Annie Hearts Joey Joe

ANNIE: When I was young I loved New Kids on the Block! But I also loved the Ramones and the Clash. I had a really big range. I liked [Swedish "Final Countdown" metal boys] Europe, too. My favorite New Kid was Joe McIntyre. I thought he was so beautiful. I probably believed that he made some of the music, even if he didn't. I actually named my cat after Joey -- for both Joey McIntyre and Joey Ramone.

BLU HEARTS ANNIE

BLU: Well, when I was visiting New York City in February 2005, I found the import CD 'Anniemal' at the Times Square Virgin Megastore. Now every time I listen to the track 'Heartbeat' on my Zen Micro, I think of lounging around in my hotel room after a full day of checking out the sights of NYC. Thank you, Annie!

PS. The most recent episode of Family Guy had a dead-on spoof of the 'Take On Me' music video by A-Ha. Complete with those creepy guys holding the wrenches.

I used to looooooooove Take on Me and a-ha to the power of 10! God, how I used to worship those cute, mewling Norwegian dudes. Anybody remember how cute "Morten" was? Huh? Big ups to Annie for giving them credit. And yeah, Take on Me is kind of a perfect pop song, not to mention has a perfect video by Steve Barron.

Fuck Joey!

I remember all the girls in school being so gaga over NKOtB that they wouldn't date regular guys because they were "saving themselves for joey". :x

I still harbor great resentment to this day and Joey, if you're reading this... your ass is grass!

I still love Joe McIntyre now, he has the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen. They really need to get a NKOTB reunion after all of these years is donnie and danny would just get over their "boyband" past and accept it already. ;)

Regarding Annie and black metal: When she was younger Annie was dating one of the most profiled figures in the Norwegian black metal community, Varg Vikernes, AKA "The Duke"/"Greven" from the band Burzum.
That was before Annie started DJ'ing. And before Varg Vikernes burned down a church, killed a guy in a competing band, went to prison and became a satan-nazi writing essays about how we should clone races of dwarfs and elfs to create a Middle Earth-kind of society.

And a bit after Annie started DJ'ing, she was dating Knut Schreiner, AKA Euroboy from Turbonegro.

The conclusion? Norway is a very, very small country.

-best regards from your friend in Norway

Kloggy,
More details please…did other black metal chicks want to kill her because they were sick of cotton candy pop princesses stealing their satan-nazi-arsonist Dukes?
What did her parents think about her dating Varg?

sarah,
If my sources in Bergen (Annie's home town) are right, Annie was a lil' black metal chick herself, before going all-bubblegum. But you're probably right. They wanted to kill her. At six p.m. on June 6th.

nice to give some gossip back to the land of lindsay.

-kloggy

...btw; why is there no talk about annie being a terrible live artist? I mean, I love "heartbeat" and "chewing gum", but have any of you heard her sing live? that's almost ashlee simpson-like.

People who care about hearing bubble pop performed live deserve what they get. It's a studio art.
