Are You Liquid Experienced?

At the NAMM music products trade show, Authentic Hendrix and Beverage Concepts announced the launch of the one and only beverage to bear the likeness and name of the acid-tripped axeman. Makes you thirsty, don't it. Via MarketWatch:

The rock 'n beverage line, named The Liquid Experience, will launch in late April at the Experience Music Project's Jimi Hendrix exhibit during a celebrity-filled event at their interactive music museum in Seattle.

"Beverage Concepts is committed to providing in our beverage line the same level of excitement, undefined coolness, rock 'n roll feel and unprecedented taste that is synonymous with the Jimi Hendrix image," explained Beverage Concepts CEO Josh Glass. "We are especially pleased to announce this partnership with Authentic Hendrix here at NAMM, where we are surrounded by Jimi Hendrix fans and by music lovers from around the globe."

The company will promote the drink along side the Red House Tour, a traveling Jimi museum. And best yet, The Liquid Experience will come in a new-to-the-US, "visually unique screw-top aluminum bottle." All part of capturing that "undefined coolness, rock 'n roll feel." Can't wait for the commercial!

Sad. Stupid.

Considering Jimi would have maybe still be making music if he hadn't been so inebriated when he was choking on his own puke. Without the alcohol, he would have had a gag reflex and maybe survived the 9 sleeping pills he took.

But let's make a drink and call it Hendrix.

Wasn't his likeness used in a Coke vs. Pepsi commercial?

Something about a strat vs. an accordian. . .

bluetrafficlights said a mouthful. What can you expect from a music trade show that thinks NAMM is an ok anagram. I hope jimi's still high enough to not be spinning in his grave right now.

Haha! Did anyone else notice that the CEO of this Beverage Company is called 'Glass'?

You see, it's funny because beverages go in glasses.

...

SHUT UP!

Josh Glass, the CEO of Beverage Concepts has an interesting track record of stealing money, and driving companies into the ground. Check out this link:

http://www.oag.state.ny.us/press/2000/jul/jul02a_00.html

This is the same guy who tried to do something with Liquid Ice and Ice-T. That company obviously isn't doing so well. My guess is that he's pulled the wool over the eyes of that Todd Russo guy he "partnered up with."

Anyway, to summarize the above link, he basically stole money from investors, promising exclusivity or something, and never delivered any product.

Josh Glass is a thief. He has been stiffing vendors for years. He moved away from Ridgefield Connecticut after his ugly past caught up with him.

Michael Curtain is shady character at best. He lies, steals from others he rightfully owes and then skips out to Florida. So much for calling the kettle black.

Just as of March 01, 2008 I have discovered that all need to be on the look-out for Oxford Distribution LLC. out of Raleigh N.C. Either they are are Master Distibutor or 3rd party contractor with Beverage Concepts... Liquid Experience. Scamming Reps without Pay, stating they need to try them out for 30 days to see how many accounts they can accomplish before they decide to pay you a salary.... They (Oxford Distribution LLC) are totally unprofessionaly. They cannot even afford to house the products in the city/territory they are pretending to hire the reps on trial.

What they do is talk foolish to you as though you have to establish yourself with them first and prove that you can establish accounts.... Later what happens is they will come back within 30 days after all your established new account(of course without pay) and state that you will not work out for the company.... and of course you know the rest!

Contacting the Beverage Concept LLC is very difficult; you will only get a recording and no return call.

They are making the Jimmmy Hendrick Energy Beverage Brand a hell of a diaster!

Also the RMS Public Retaions that was once tied to the Liquid Experience Groups and Josh Glass have seperated due to the fact they did not pay them. Josh Glass left owing the RMS Publich Relations Co a sum of over 30,000usd... and many other companies.

Please watch out for the Oxford Distribution LLC... Patricia and Edmond Topakian as CEO of the company in connection with Concept Beverage and Liquid Experience. They will try and make fools out of hiring account reps....Again their company does not even have enough finance to warehouse or delivery the products within the territories for which they are hiring reps throughout the South mainly.

Something is very wrong with the distribution channel of the Jimmy Hendrix Energy Drink products.

I do not know Angela Davis...but her ranting and raving over the Topakian's and Oxford Distribution is false! I, along with 15 other employees , have worked for this company since they started last winter and we have ALL had great experiences. I'm sure this "Angela Davis" is just a pseudonym for the ONE employee who RESIGNED from their company because she couldn't sell the product and wanted them to pay her for doing NOTHING. She told both of the Topakians that she didn't want to sell the drink because she didn't think she would make the salary she wanted. They parted ways amicably and then all hell broke loose. I work in the office and know that they tried to help this employee but she was unwilling to work with anyone. Moreover, after RESIGNING because she didn't think the "numbers" would work for her, she started harassing other employees and their families, the manufacturer, sales reps, and the Hendrix family! She claimed that she was calling the NAACP to sue them, etc. It was insane and the other employees called our office to ask the Topakians to call authorities or someone to have this woman stop harassing them. They didn't stoop down to her level and just went on with building their business and working with their other reps who are very happy. Oxford Distribution should be complaining about her...not the other way around. It's a disgrace that someone can post untrue comments on a whim!

Sorry Joanne but I believe Angela. The truth is posted at the New York Attorney General's website under press releases for July 2000. It doesn't get any clearer than that.
STATE SETTLES HUGE FRANCHISE FRAUD CASE
"Snack and Beverage" Franchisers Barred From Doing Business in New York

Attorney General Spitzer today announced the settlement of the largest franchise fraud case ever brought by the Attorney General’s office. The case involves a franchise scam in the snack and beverage industry that cost dozens of investors more than $900,000. The scam preyed upon small business people in the tri-state area who invested between $20,000-$50,000 apiece to purchase distributorships in the belief that their snack and beverage product lines would be ‘‘exclusive." However, the provider of the franchises never delivered and the investors lost their money.

"Fly-by-night operators can expect to be vigorously prosecuted," Spitzer said. "The unfortunate experience of these victims serves as a powerful lesson that we must all be extremely careful when investing our money. The importance of conducting due diligence, seeking professional counsel and contacting my Investor Protection Bureau before investing money in a franchise cannot be overstated."

The owners of the business, Michael L. Glass, 67, of Mahopac, and his son Joshua G. Glass, 32, of Ridgefield, Ct., sold the unregistered franchises to investors in 1993-95. Also involved in the scam were Adriane Glass, 50, of Granite Springs, the wife of Michael Glass, and Peter M. Glass, 37, of Patterson, another son of Michael L. Glass.

Exclusive territories were sold to investors in New York City, Suffolk, Nassau and Westchester counties, as well as 19 counties in New Jersey, and in Ohio, Connecticut and Washington. The senior Glass founded two companies, Westcool Snacks and Beverages, Inc. and Maricopa Products to perpetrate the fraud. Adriane Glass owned 50 percent of both companies. Joshua Glass aided the scam by soliciting investors. Peter Glass’ company, Wacky Snacks and Beverages, which did business under the name of Key Marketing, participated in the fraud by holding itself out as an essential vehicle for franchisees to help them secure commercial accounts to buy Maricopa products. All three corporations have been dissolved for failure to pay taxes.

After taking the money of franchisees, Michael Glass encouraged them to purchase equipment and to lease warehouse space, which only further increased their losses. Although he promised success to investors, none made a profit. All lost money and two declared bankruptcy. Glass never delivered on his promises to create an exclusive line of snacks and beverages. Instead Glass only provided potato chips and a sparse line of flavored water. Stores stopped buying the flavored water when the labels peeled off to reveal another beverage’s label, and the potato chips when the bags deflated and leaked oil. Not long after taking investors’ money, Glass closed his warehouse and did not return the telephone calls of franchisees.

Under New York law all franchisors must register a prospectus with the Attorney General’s office and provide a copy of the prospectus to potential franchisees. The Glasses failed to do so.

"Without submitting a prospectus and receiving approval from the Attorney General’s office, these defendants provided investors with unregistered brochures that contained unsupported statements that franchisees could earn up to $780,000 annually. Additionally, they falsely stated that Maricopa Products had 12 warehouses nationwide," said Assistant A.G. Joseph J. Punturo, head of the Attorney General’s Franchise Section. "Had proper disclosure been made, investors would have learned that Michael Glass had previously been convicted of grand larceny and a scheme to defraud."

As a result of the settlement, filed in Manhattan Supreme court, the four members of the Glass family have been permanently barred from engaging in any business relating to the sale of franchises in New York. The Attorney General’s office has already collected two settlements, one with Joshua Glass, Peter Glass and Key Marketing for $35,000, and the other settlement with Adriane Glass for $100,000, the proceeds of which will soon be distributed to investors, who will receive approximately 10 cents on the dollar. Michael Glass, Maricopa Products, Inc. and Westcool Snacks and Beverages, Inc. settled for $936,525. The A.G.’s office is currently searching for assets to satisfy the judgment.

Interesting how things work out. Seems Mr. Spitzer has been as a liar and a cheat as well as an asshole. Mr. Spitzer pursued many people in his terroristic reign. With a heavy hand he basically broke people by throwing so much legal crap their way ,they couldn't fight the deep pockets of the state. I know all about this story as I worked on the case at the time. We were told to make this look like a "huge catch" in the public eyes. Michael Glass was a scapegoat and his kids were thrown in for icing. It was basically nonsense but it looked great as PR for Mr. Spitzer at the time. I don't know anything about this new product line but I can tell you this. 99% of this was slanted to make it look like these people were thieves. It was really just a business gone bad. I wish I could post all the inside memos about this but I fear NYS would come after me. I have since left that area and gone into the private sector. Just remember, big brother can make things look however they want. The truth is not always what it appears.

Just wanted to let you all know. Josh Glass is a thief and a con man. He hired me and another girl to promote Liquid Ice in Central CA. We opened numerous accounts in the area and when it was timed to get paid, he cut out. Me and my co-worker have both filed cases with the CA board of labor commission. We have since won our cases and awaiting payment.
If you happen to meet this guy.... DONT BELIEVE HIS LIES..... he a professional liar and is very good at what he does..... Scamming people out of money.

Its funny that you want to bash Oxford. Patricia Topakin is a great lady. I hate to tell you that the checks that we get from them are great. And the company van is nice to. You have to want to make money to do this job. It was a brand new company when you decided to try it out. You are a grown woman and are acting very childish! I am so glad you decided to quit calling. I miss laughing at you rant and rave about a company you did not have a clue about. Do your homework next time. Have a nice day flipping burgers at your next job!!!!!!!!!!!!

To Mo JO JOJO,

Sounds like you are very angry. I don't believe this young lady and others on this post would be making up such lies. I think by now this young lady has went her way "flipping burgers" as you have stated. I think you need to conduct your homework and use better judgement in regards to the people you and your company represent.

If indeed you are a upstanding and reputable company then keep up the good work, a company van alone will not make you.
