As for Ashlee getting Punk'd... They told her that the latest gallop poll indicates that 87% of 100,000 Americans polled said that they're over the lip-sync thing and respect her as an artist... Then, Koochter pops out and said "You done got Punk'd... We're just kidding! American still hates you!". It was a bit harsh...

For the curious, here's how Ash got punk'd.
She was at an art exhibit and they fooled her into thinking she had placed a jacket adjacent to a burning candle, starting a fire which in turn set off the sprinklers and ruined the paintings. Or something like that. They're running out of ideas obviously.

"Pink Is the New Blog", is nothing new. Trent, the guy who runs the site, is blogging stuff that many other sites have blogged before he ever gets around to it. Most of the time, within a few hours, but I've seen things he's posted that are days old. And he doesn't always give credit where credit is due. I stopped reading his site after a few days when I realized he's just regurgitating stories with a "pink" twist.

I have been reading Stereogum for at least a year now. Scott's a lot more interesting and has much wittier things to say... Most of the people who post about celebrity gossip give credit to one another, but Jake is right, "PITNB" doesn't. And I have never seen one blog wage war on another- it is just ridiculous to come in to one website and say it's not as good as another (especially when the one you're representing is something of a newer, less credible blog).

as a side note, I've always thought it was funny that ashton kutcher, who is quite popular with the gay men, is on a show called punk'd, the prison word for, uh, "hi, how're you doin?"

i'm definitely not a fan of any of the simpsons, but seriously i wish people would stop lynching her over the SNL snafu. TONS of people do it. britney, janet, j.lo etc. and even rockers do it constantly- or at least use backing tracks to make it sound better. all american bandstand did was promote lip synchers, as other variety programs sure as hell do, even nickelodeon's all that. (lol i caught it this wknd when i was babysitting haha and ashanti was lipsynching HORRIBLY!)

Now what would have been great is if they punk'd her in this way, they had someone like some respectable rock writer in on the punk telling Ashlee that she is one of the most original artists out there and that she is becoming a serious punk icon and influence and she is the Chrissy Hynde of Generation Y. Maybe, Pink is the New Blog did rip off Sterogum (at first), but Steregum ripped off Ultragrrrl, with the neverending (seriously) stories of shitty indie bands. So I would say that Trent is doing everyone a favor who would rather see pictures of Ashlee's ugly face, Britneys big juicy titties, and Lohans shrinking waste, over shithole music from shithole bands.
