Axl Rose Sort Of Confused About This Dr. Pepper Nonsense

thumbnail: Axl Rose Sort Of Confused About This Dr. Pepper Nonsense

Congratulations Dr. Pepper, you managed to get some serious PR mileage out of your Democracy Now campaign. (For those returning from internet vacation, here's the premise: If Chinese Democracy comes out in 2008, everybody in the US of A gets a free can of Dr. Pepper. We guess because these days both are pretty syrupy, fizzed-out/flat, etc. Brought to you by Dr. Pepper.) We tried to resist the whole thing, but Axl took some time out from re-recording the background vocals to the outro of "I.R.S." for the 52nd time today in order to respond. Since it's the closest we're getting to hearing Axl output for awhile, let's stop what we're doing and tune in:

Press Release from Axl Regarding Dr Pepper
We are surprised and very happy to have the support of Dr Pepper with our album "Chinese Democracy," as for us, this came totally out of the blue. If there is any involvement with this promotion by our record company or others, we are unaware of such at this time. And as some of Buckethead's performances are on our album, I'll share my Dr Pepper with him.
Axl Rose

Keep up at the Dr. Democracy blog. (HINT: Don't really.)

the dr. pepper blog is kinda fun to look at, though. and the statement from dr. pepper is genius: "It took a little patience for us to perfect Dr Pepper's special mix of 23 ingredients, so we completely understand and empathize with Axl's [quest] for the perfect album."

"a little patience." ha!
