Band To Watch: ¡Forward, Russia!

Having already given us Kaiser Chiefs and The bloody Cribs, Leeds delivers a new Band To Watch in ¡Forward, Russia!. Recommended if you like At The Drive-In, !!!, and punctuation in general (these post-punkers would make a nice addition to your Indie Rock Fantasy League). All four MP3s on their MySpace page are audio caffeine; "Nine" is my fave, but current single "Thirteen," with its killer chorus, is worth downloading as well.

I normally love dancepunk, but I just don't get these guys...they don't seem to have any of the choons that say, Radio 4 or !!! have. Ditto Clap Your Hands Say Yeah.

i absolutely love punctuation. best thing in the world! ¡…! ¿¿¿

and girl drummers are always great (even though I prefer bands with female bass players)

I just listened to a song by Forward Russia and it was the second most dispicable noise that has ever entered my ear. The first being The Cribs!

Peace!!

next kurt cobain!? were you even listening?
forward russia are superb but you can shut up with the punctuation crap. it's a good name for a good band, if you prefer female bass players then keep listening to the smashing pumpkins you boring idiot. halloween in nottingham is gonna be mental, if you're not trick or treating with your mum then you should come!!!!

Saw em live in Bradford (on a cracking bill with The Reseasch, The Duels and The Cribs) and thought they were excellent. Much much much better live than recorded

Hey there guys, Forward Russia played at our club night (Leeds Student Radio) in Leeds Uni Union last night and they kicked ass! A review of their shows are on our website (http://www.lsrfm.com/music/info/reviews/ ) along with pictures and the like. Enjoy.
Cheers to the guys for playing!
