Bid On Bad Art With Zach Galifianakis, Stay For An Indie Rock After Party

New York Mag's six-part New York x New York experiment in vegan cookery, karaoke, and indie rock's finest is up to its event-blending best with their next get-together. So far it's been singing with Of Montreal and contortionist/vegan-dining with Man Man, but this one promises even more laughs of the intentional variety. On July 10th at Hiro Ballroom, NYxNY has enlisted the auctioneering talents of one Zach Galifianakis, whose sole role for that night will be to take bids on pieces of horribly bad art. Like this one...

Of course the proceeds of said auction benefit New York Cares. And of course, the night isn't free. Tix cost $30, but consider it a two-fer, 'cause after Zach has made an ass out of the artists and those willing to pony up for their pieces, the stage will be stampeded by an intimate performance from Sub Pop reverb rockers Band Of Horses. Buy tix here. And take the jump for one more sample of bad art, which came to us titled "Bad Art Horse Jesus WTF" (a working, unofficial title, no doubt.)

It's like a suitably terrible impressionistic take on this.
