Bigmouths Strike Again: Leak Edition

Some of you guys have been hearing bits and pieces of a highly anticipated album in stores soon, and it finally leaked! Not everyone's happy about it, but gotta expect that. A band member said:

This could potentially be one of the biggest leaks there is. If you think that every year computers, iPod, internet music grows exponentially and we're probably one of the biggest bands in rock music on the internet. ... Our job is to put out records and tour and make music. What are we gonna do? Sit at the plant and watch everybody? Some guy working minimum wage, why would he care how it affects us? It's a multi-pronged thing.
Which massive internet band is it? Guess, then jump.

Where does this guy check his facts?

Not too sure Fall Out Boy is one of the biggest bands on the internet.

Also, while "computers, iPod [sic], and internet music" are growing rapidly, I don't think the growth is exponential per se.

Turd.

cause it's not like the internet is responsible for their popularity or anything.

I knew it had to be either Arcade Fire or Fall Out Boy.

Wow, Luke. Nice. Using "per se" and "turd" in the same post. On top of that, exponential means something that is characterized by an extreme rapid increase. So, essentially, your description of new media is the same as the original poster.

Remember: You're not splitting the atom; you're posting on a dumb music blog. Keep things in perspective.

Really? People are disputing their claim as one of the biggest bands on the internet? Have you guys ever heard of myspace? Fall Out Boy is practically the unofficial religion of myspace.

I am very, very happy to say that even the picture was of no help to me. So that's what Fall Out Boy looks like. I expected more eye makeup.

Moody, let the guy speak however the hell he wants to. It's a fucking comment. If he wants to say "per se," who gives a shit? Oh my fuck, you people will whine about anything.

And yes, I realize I'm also complaining. Don't make me slap a bitch.

Does anyone else think it's strange that the bass player is made out to be the star? How often does that happen?

People who like Fall Out Boy are too dumb to know how to download a .rar file so they shouldn't worry about it.

Well first on the guy who asked why the bass player (the original singer) is the guy getting all the attention, its because he writes the lyrics and is the only one who talks at concerts. Patrick (the singer) has a way better voice but is very shy even in person. As far as the leak being huge, well it is. Google Fall Out Boy then try googling whatever band you think is bigger on the internet, and i think the answer will almost always be fall out boy.

Jim is our tech guy. He's been keeping your comments doubling for over 2 years now! You'll remember he also blogged along with Jed (RIP) during my honeymoon in late '05. Now, of course, it's just me and Amrit. Hey Jim fix the multiple-commenting thing! xoxo

Potentially one of the biggest leaks?

I would say WILCO-YHF was the biggest leak ever, in its effect it had on the industry, and the understanding that an album leak could actually boost sales. This may be the biggest leak for emo teens ever, but Arcade Fire is a bigger leak for others.
btw-The FOB album starts with Jay-Z, and the song talks about themselves like hip-hoppers rap about themselves, singing about how famous they are, and how they are on the covers of magazines. It reeks of as much arrogance as the comment Pete Wentz made.

About the bassplayer.. The only reason that guy is getting all the attention, is because the other guys are buttugly
