Bigmouths Strike Again: Singing Poet Edition

Choice thoughts on artistry from today's featured Bigmouth.

Do I prefer Kelly Clarkson's music to Bob Dylan's? Yes. I've never bought a Dylan record. A singing poet? It just bores me to tears.
Guess, then jump.

Well... strictly speaking, he's 100% correct. Poet? Sure. Genius? Maybe. Singer? Umm...

fred, it's simon cowell- pic didn't work either but I follwoed the link.

This one was hard, the first thought that came to mind was mike watt even though I know he's a dylan fan since he is playing bass on the new kelly clarkson record.

It's funny when Liam and Noel say something dumb, cause we love em, but Simon Cowell? Has anyone ever even tried to say he's relevant in any critical way that would positively weight his judgement on the dylan v clarkston debate? This one just makes me say, 'ehh..yeah, cute'

What does he know about good music anyway? He's a record label executive. A fucking tin ear.
According to Wikipedia, he released the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers theme song as a single.

Blank Dogs are actually singular: It's the insanely prolific one-man Brooklyn-based band of Mr. Blank Dog. We don't know too much about the biography of the guy behind the bedroom new-wave pop/punk and he's usually covering his face with masks...

Quit Your Day Job: Megafaun

Raleigh-via-Eau Clair BTW Megafaun debuted impressively earlier this year with Bury The Square. The trio nip-and-tuck experimental tendencies (tape splicing, white noise colliding with banjo, junkyard-laced spring reverb, screeching feedback at the tail end of a quiet back porch lament)...
