at first, i was all in agreement and on the "britney is trashy" bandwagon...upon closer inspection, i began to secretly celebrate her ability to be a mega pop icon on one hand, and a seemingly normal girl on the other. we can't accuse her of letting the money get to her head. and god knows, we've all looked sloppy going into convienent stores.

Well,I will be the first to admit that as far as her music goes,I don't really follow it that much. All the media trashing does draw my attention though, and I really can't understand the fixation with her going barefoot.WHAT is so wrong or unusual about this??? When I was in college (in the 80's)it was hard NOT to find girls barefoot everywhere on campus.In nice weather,they would carry their shoes between classes,sit out on grassy areas and catch some sun while reading,or even go barefoot in the laundry areas of the dormitory complexes.No one seemed to find this unusual or disgusting.Two different girls I dated admitted to "hating to wear shoes"and they were normal,well-adjusted women who certainly weren't "hillbillys",or "trashy" in any way.They wore shoes when required,but loved to go barefoot on summer evenings,or walk the trails in the park. Yes,their feet got dirty, and sometimes extremely black(even muddy)but no one got all bent out of shape about it.They said the cool mud felt good between their toes,and if they liked it,so what?It even had a kind of innocent feminine charm,unfortunately sadly lacking nowadays.In addition,they are both still alive and healthy,so they must not have caught some dreaded disease from the earth or sidewalks.By the way,I'm not a foot-fetish person,but I do think the female foot can be very attractive,and this must be a shared opinion, based on the number of womens shoe styles that expose the foot in some way.So leave Britney alone,at least on this subject.If she likes going barefoot,then that is FAR from the worst thing she's done.

Listen everyone going barefoot is not a unhygienic, there are actually not much risks when a person with seasoned soles goes barefoot. I myself love to go barefoot, yes, in the toilet, and I'm just one of the many people who do. We are normal people too, we do not have abnormal qualities, we are not dirty because we go barefoot.
When I was in high school I was barefoot practically everywhere. All my friends were too, and we would hang out barefoot, go around in mud, dark alleys where spit and gum were, and not one of us got sick.
Going barefoot, getting my whole feet dirty and muddy really appeals to me, I like to see my feet all black. But of course that's my opinion, and no one else has any right to control what I want to do. So think about it. We barefooters have a life too.
