Plusses and Minuses. I pity anyone with an older computer for how graphics intensive it is. Could there possibly be more ads getting in the way of the information and preventing me from surfing the site? New Say Anything video made me happy. Other than that, I got frustrated and left shortly thereafter.

"Get your mac on"

Forget Apple, someone call Kraft about this genius marketing slogan. Gotta be KD.

Wow, now it's even more complicated and slow to access irrelevant and useless information from a clueless, dying former media giant.

I like the design, but I think functional-wise, it's too cluttered.

Content is whole different animal, but from a design aspect, it's good. Definitely cleaner than the old design. Things are less cluttered, ads are condensed to the right. My huge beef with it is the flash features billboard, which to me is pointless and annoying. But taking into account that their target audience (12-22 years old) probably have fairly new computers, I don't think they'll have to worry about slow loading time.

"You know, sometimes less is more, MTV....."

it's a lot less than having 100+ hyperlinks on a page.

i likes it.

The background makes me think of Coke. Interpret that last word as you will.

I particularly like the over sized, extra condescending search tool. I’m glad the marketing department is changing their designs to accommodate seniors like me. Thanks MTV, now I can find the new toe tapping Christina Aguilera tune that everyone is talking about down here at the home. I heard she’s just getting good.

Cleaner than the old site, but the flash interface makes it too slow and clunky feeling. Dear MTV, flash is soooo early 2000s, think ajax.

Still suffering with a modem here (Phone "service" don't have DSL out in the sticks)

It is a dial up killer.
Two minutes in and still not loaded.

As josh! says - They should feck the flash and jump on the ajax bandwagon.

Three minutes... still nothing. I give up.

I've been waiting for five minutes, it's still loading. I'm on DSL, with a brand new computer.

It's probably awsome, though.

Wow, over-crammed slow-loading flash site with a black background no less! Soooo kewl! I can't wait to click on a link and wait 5 minutes for it to load. Heckuva job, as they say.

cluttered, obnoxiously big search field, clunky. Why do people insist on making content-heavy flash sites? Broadband is getting there, but not yet.

i'm on the zippiest, fastest, super secret proxy connection evs, and that didn't make any difference with icky, chunky loading.

the site? it's ugly, and i'd rather stare at a strobe light and get the same schizophrenic feeling.

ineffectual and useless. mtv that is.

God, I'm glad I have a decent connection, this is like a bunch of Suits got together one day and 5 advert contracts and 10 Coke binges latter this is what they puked.
Which makes me wonder is MTV the cause of this kind of culture, or a symptom of larger things?
Between this, Janet's magic Boobies, and the mysterious lack of M (music) on MTV, they can't figure out that nobody takes them seriously anymore?
/rant off

my first and last time to mtv.com. awful....takes way too long to load. And what's with the ads that show up when navigating from one section to the other????? a bloated piece of crap - just like MTV itself...so in that way it is a success.

If I hadn't just updated to the wonderful new flash 9 beta for linux I think firefox would have just shit on me for attempting to load that site. My verdict, way too much flash, it should always be used in moderation.

So if you have Javascript and/or Flash disabled [or uninstalled] there's no fuckin' content AT ALL?? Not even a message saying "screw you" or anything. Niiiiice job, "designers". Maybe they were taking their cues from the BravoTV.com site which also sucks completely.
